Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital - Compassion and Personal Care
Our goal is to provide compassionate care for all of our patients and personal support for their families. We are able to use the services we provide to meet your pet's needs, including routine exams, wellness care, short term or long term illnesses, accidents or emergencies.
Our veterinarians and veterinary staff's commitment to your pet's health does not end with an office visit, but continues for the life of your pet. We follow up to see how your pet is progressing and are available to provide answers for your questions or concerns.
Working together as a team we can make a difference in providing a long and healthy life for your pet.
Dr. Highsmith first opened the Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital in 1998 after practicing in a large and small animal practice in Pennsylvania and a small animal practice in Raleigh.
Dr. Highsmith is a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing in North Carolina since 1995. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. Having grown up in Cary NC, she elected to open her practice in her hometown.
She grew up showing horses and rescuing anything her parents would let her keep. She has always been passionate about animals and inspired her older sister to return to school as an adult to get her DVM also. She lives with her husband, 3 children and a host of fur babies. She has a dog named Flora, the cats Connor, Kisses, Tippy Toes and Puzzle, two rabbits Bubble and Squeak, two horses Ranger and Jewel, pygmy goats Houdini, Starfire and Snickers, a bearded dragon named Marvin, Waffles the chinchilla and Mirage the corn snake.
Dr. Martina Midkiff DVM:
Dr. Midkiff grew up in North Carolina and attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State University. She graduated in 1994 and chose to remain in the area. Since that time, she has found great joy working as a small animal practitioner. She takes great pride in working closely with you and your pet and in providing calm, compassionate care.
When she is not visiting her patients, she is at home with her own fur kids. She currently lives near Willow Springs with her husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 7 chickens. She considers herself a "homebody" and loves gardening, playing with her dogs and doing carpentry project around the house. She loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, hiking and photography.
She looks forward to seeing you and your "fur kids" soon!
